  1. Hi all..

I'm looking for a little advice please..
Wishing to change my 2010 Ducati Hypermotard 796 front forks from
    Front Suspension

    Marzocchi 43mm usd forks,

    To Ohlins..
Can you advise please which model I would need and where I might find
    At a decent price..

    Thank you..

  2. Hyper forks are really long. You might have trouble finding any suitable. I think Aircooled Multistrada 1000/1100DS 'S' might be same length but travel etc probably different and use non radial calipers.

  3. Or you could get the std ones upgraded with better internal, less cost than ohlins and better performance , assuming yours are adjustable

  4. Unfortunately no mine are not adjustable, but, I am basically transforming this Bike from a hyper to a modern cafe racer, with clip ons rather than straight bars... So I wondered if say 848 ohlinns might fit or similar..

I'm building a modern version of this kind of thing really..

  5. Can you get hold of a set on loan and fit them? Not sure of the frame or engine placement is different so shorter forks means it could cause clearance issues? Do you know the length differences?

Having been around DD for years, tbh you probably can get almost any to fit!

  6. Will be difficult.. Might try in Winter time when mates bikes are off the road..., or go to ohlins at Bury St Edmunds with yoke etc and frame..

  7. Do you know the length difference? If they are the same as monster then its easy

  8. I will get some stats and let you know mate ... Happy for it to be shorter as I'm wanting clip ons etc .. N@@DS

  9. Thanks Bradders
I shall enjoy reading this on my 12 hour night shift!

It's basically same as I'm doing but in reverse.. Work competed so far is stunning I'm pleased to say .. I'm very fussy and things take much longer than it should.. Pic of my S4r swingarm stripped re painted and modified to fit.. image.jpg

  10. Theres some nice ideas on duccutters

  11. If you put shorter forks on a hyper even if the front wheel doesn't hit the motor under braking the handling might be too sharp. I think you'll find HM are 90mm longer than superbike/monster. I had similar problems fitting upside down forks to my 907 which are also very long. To test how shorter forks will work you could raise your existing legs through the yokes.
