996 Ohlins Front Spindle Pinch Screws

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by Messer, Jan 20, 2020.

  1. Ordered some as part of my refresh, but the ones that are indicated on all the parts fiches are 8A0069056 which are same on the fiches for the 2002 748R and 998R also. These arent the socket head cap screws though, they are flanged hex head - so not right to fit inside the recesses on the ohlins.

Anyone have the right part code for the correct ohlins OEM fitment ones?

    Cheers

  2. Messer, You could try 77913711A which are the fork lower pinch cap screws for Ohlins fitted 999s and some others, may be worth asking for the supplier to give you the dimensions to compare before you pay for them
Edit: turns out 77913711A is M8 x 1.25mm x35mm and 8A0069056 is M8x1.25mm x 45mm so its a question of how deep the socket head sits

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  3. Hi. Denzil is right (the norm). Ducati have the incorrect bolts on their system for the 748/916/996/998 Öhlins models. The 999s is the identical bolt for Öhlins forks. I know as I had this issue for my 748r.
If you don’t want the flange bolts Messer, I could use them, new project in town.

  4. Hi, Ill get on and order some of those in that case.

    How annoying!

Not the end of the world, the flange bolts were only 7.32 plus postage for a bag of ten but bloody annoying as they had to be ordered in
