Ohlins Steering Damper Adjustment

Hey

Have an Ohlins steering damper on GSXR that looks like it will fit T9 except the bolt hole on the eye where it attaches to frame in a 8mm hole but the T9 hole appears to be M6.

Think I could just slip a small amount of metal tube in the eye, 8mm OD 6mm ID cut to length?
