Oil Leak & Loose Headset

  1. This may be a stupid question, but I can't find much information on this and thought this was the best place to get some....
The middle screw hole on the picture is that meant to be plugged by a screw to stop oil coming out?
I noticed oil dripping down the front gasket (i think that's what it's called), and saw it was seeping from behind this screw.
I have in the mean time tightened it and has stopped the problem but i haven't ridden it since.
If anyone could shed light on this then that would be very much appreciated.

Also I have play in my headset. I think I just need to tighten the headset. Is this done by removing the headstock and tightening the middle screw/ part clockwise (shown in the attached picture as the lowest red screw)? Or how else is it done?

Again, thanks for your help, really appreciated.

  2. Yes. there should be a blanking screw in there. It is removed to insert a cam locking tool when changing the belts. An M8 button head screw with a fibre washer under it or an aluminium crush washer should seal it. I wouldn't run the bike like that as the camshaft and rockers could be starved of oil.
