999 Oil Pooling

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Joe44, Nov 25, 2020.

  1. Any Amy ideas why I would be getting a small bit of oil pooling at the back of the engine

  2. Crankcase breather valve gasket or valve cover gasket most likely.

  3. Your breather looks to be weeping

  4. Not the most mechanically minded is it a big fix should I be remortgaging

  5. You need to remove the breather and have a look at it.

  6. No, unscrew the breather - that black oily thing at the back of your original photo.

Clean it, check it for any visible damage and then either refit, or replace it if it has split

  7. Cheers thanks for pointers folks

  8. Is the bike still ok to run with this problem?

  9. You may find the thing comes apart mid ride as did with mine. You should be able to get one easily enough and its a pretty simple job.
