V4 Oil When Removing Slave Cylinder?

  1. Unbolted slave on my panigale v4s 18 and engine oil was running out once removed? Isn't it meant to be dry in there as can see oil running out of push rod hole ?

  2. No. There’s oil fed into that shaft to help supply the clutch. There’s a seal arrangement behind the slave. Providing it’s not leaking with the cylinder in place, all is well.

  3. Oh great that's good news then as ive read about there being o ring seals on the push rod to stop oil leaking into slave area but that must be for earlier models as can't see any o rings listed in the parts catalogue for v4 just the push rod itself. That explains the rubber seal on rear of slave like you mentioned.
