is a good match available for this to touch up the odd stone chip on my covers and engine does anyone know? have previously bought a touch up "match" for the frame paint which to be honest wasnt anywhere close. cheers
There is none that I am aware of, it will be a question of trying to find a car colour as close as possible and buying that probably in a spray can.
Depending upon where you are you may have a local paint shop supplier which can match the paint up. I used to use a place called KETT paints who were down the road from me when I lived in Peterborough. You could take anything in with paint on it and they would analyse it on a machine then make up an identical match for you. They`d supply the new paint either in a tin so you could paint it on with a brush or use in a spray gun, or they would put it in professional rattle cans which actually had a decent nozzle on them. I used them loads and the paint match was spot on. When I had my 748S I got them to match up some ducati red so i could repaint the top fairing and some silver which matched the frame colour identical so I could touch up some small marks.
A spectrum analyser is what is referred to above. A large\decent paintshop or motor factor might have one along with their own mixing system. In fact this company actually now do it, they are specialists in motorcycle paint. I have used them before and much of their paint is water based. They are pricey though. Apparently it's named Dark Bronze RS Motorbike Paint Online Store
