  1. Well..........I should be able to work this out, but I'm damned if I can.....

My desktop pc front case fan has packed up (rattles)........so I acquire two fans....one (F12) to replace the faulty one and one (F12tc) with it's own temp sensor so that in the event the PC gets too hot, it speeds up etc etc.

The motherboard has only one 3 pin connector and that powers either the replacement F12 fan or the F12tc sensor fan OK.

But if I plug the F12tc sensor fan into the spare PSU Molex connector it refuses to run, while the replacement F12 fan runs in that connector........ but I don't think it is fast enough.

There should be according to the motherboard manual, plenty of power to run both fans off the motherboard connector via a splitter cable, but as far as I am aware, either both fans will run slower or the recorded fans speeds will/could be all over the place.........particularly with the F12tc sensor one connected.

Both fans are Arctic 3 pin and are wired the same according to the wire colours......

The PSU is running the PC and processor with 3 hard drives and two DVD/R/RW units.......maybe there isn't enough ooopmh left in the spare PSU cabling??

  2. Yep, cheap cables - that'll be it :Angelic:

  3. When you connect to the Molex, which wires are to connecting to. Red = 5v and Yellow = 12v.

  4. Temporarily disconnect one of the HDDs. If that makes no difference to how the fans run, you'll know that it isn't lack of power.

  5. So you do Exact Fit upgrade cables for a CX600? (Corsair, that is.......and not Ford, either)

  6. There are four wires in the Molex.....Yellow; Red; and two Black.......

There are three wires to each fan.........Yellow, Red and Black.........connection obvious (any of the two black should do as they are both 'Ground').

Done that.......the F12tc still won't run from the PSU Molex, but it will from the mobo chassis fan header..........wierd.

  7. Exact-Start, Exact Fit is an American Brand of premium quality timing belts  and no :Sorry:

Try just connecting red and black (fan) to yellow and black (PC)

  15. OK...will do.......

  16. Thanks....that spins the F12TC fan, but slowly........but that could be because the sensor isn't that hot.............where's my electric hairdryer?

    A towel won't work......

  17. Below 32 C fan runs at 500rpm
