Once a year hundreds of buildings have an "Open House" where members of the public are allowed into new and old buildings which are not normally accessible, or are allowed free into those which usually charge. There are also guided tours, including by architects. Some places you have to book, others you just turn up. Here's a link: http://www.openhouselondon.org.uk/ Places I have gone into in previous years include: the Duke of Wellington's House, Dr Johnson's House, the Royal College of Surgeons, the Law Society, the Foreign Office Locarno Room, the Bank of England, Portcullis House, and many others. For anyone interested in history, architecture or civil engineering (or just nosy), it's great.
Sounds like the basis of a useful fact-finding tour. Recommendations could then be made regarding the tearing-down of old, inefficient and under-utilised properties in favour of modern developments. Who knows, London could thereby be re-vitalised and become relevant once more, like it was back when those old buildings were new!
cool. thanks for the invite. promise not to piss in your sink. i like old London town. oozes and sweats history.cool place. wouldn't want to live there mind.
telling Queenie Buck Pal is being converted to a skateboard park, could invalidate your knighthood application...
