Hi ducpeeps....... Time to scratch head and pick your brains lol.Has anyone had any success in charging their dvt via the optimate 4 and via the hella socket? I have heard conflicting advice and opinions as to the possibility of this method as socket is powered via ignition and not a permanent live? When I change mode to can bus charging on optimate and plug into socket on rhs of dash all it does is whirr a bit flash dash lighting switchgear and rear tail light on?? Is this normal and is it a sort of test sequence? Not left it trying long as unsure if procedure is correct? Any advice and opinions be thanked you muchly
Mines plugged straight to the battery. As all the sockets turn off after a set time after the bike is turned off. It is a can-bus system after all.
I'm, or was, in the same boat as you, from what I gathered you can only charge it through the DDA port not the hella socket (additional suitable Optimate cable £27) so bit the bullet and connected a feed tail to the battery instead, job done.
