Does anyone have one of these hanging around they want to move on: https://www.adventurerider.co.uk/ox...MIxLmyveHXjwMVA5dQBh3YSS-7EAQYByABEgJZb_D_BwE Just asking before I order one. Not for one of my bikes, but to lock the drivers 'Captain' seat in our motorhome in the rearwards position. By drilling one hole it's a simple security measure to make it difficult to drive with the seat backwards. Normal disc locks don't have a deep enough throat. Thanks
I see there has been a couple of 'Useful' ratings on this, so a little more explanation won't go amiss. I can't take credit for this, apparently Motor-homers have been fitting various padlocks and Motorcycle disc locks for years to lock their swivelling 'Captains' drivers seat round 180 deg from the steering wheel. The throat on a normal disc lock means you can't get it close enough to the top part of the swivel to stop it moving at all, but a lot did use them. When the Oxford patriot came along it's separate pin means you can drill the hole in the bottom part of the swivel close to the top half and stop the seat moving at all. You just have to reach under the seat and insert the pin from there. The space and design of the patriot also makes it a lot harder to attack with an angle grinder than a standard disc lock or padlock.
Don’t have one for sale Nasher but have done this myself and it’s a great solution. if you’ve a Ducato based van and haven’t already, then worth also looking at the cab door locks. The drivers door lock can be bypassed fairly easily. There are internal deadlock and reinforcing plates available. Let me know if you’d like me to point you in their direction….
