  1. It must be about five or six years since I went to Paignton Bike Night. I think I may take myself along for a look....

  2. Sounds great but too far for me Ian

  3. last time i went down i took my newish Bimota SB8 all carbon body and parked it and sat down with my mate after looking at all the bikes but all the atention was taken by a choped GC125 in mat black with buterfly stickers all over it parked net to me never went again

  4. To be honest John, there are usually so many modern superbikes and blinged up Harleys there it's not interesting looking at them anymore. People are attracted to something really different e.g. some joker brought a heavily modified Puch 50cc moped the other week and in terms of interest from us all it knocked everything else into the weeds!
Last night I left my 999S in the garage and took my ancient BSA Rocket Gold Star to Paignton instead and the interest in it was surprising.
John, please bring your Ducati when you can, there aren't enough of them turning up and if we get more there maybe the punters will start to appreciate the clutch rattle is built-in instead of laughing and thinking the bike is falling to bits.

  5. Gold star now thats a class bike i miss my Norton commando , never sold it it was nicked every time i see one i have to see if its mine as i would reconise it as i made a lot of the parts
    and fittings

  6. only 166 miles for you mate

  7. yes, would have been a 'trip to the shops' 35 years ago.

  8. I saw and admired the BSA! I won't be able to get again this year unfortunately. Work and all that... I also enjoyed looking at the 888. Bit curious about the 1198S in Fire and Rescue livery though!

  9. Any ideas when this restarts? I may try and get the second week after Easter, if it's on by then if anyone is interested?

  10. The Paignton Bike Festival dates are 3rd, 4th and 5th May.
There aren't any bike night dates on their (BMAD) web site yet but I expect they will start later than the festival. Last year they didn't start until June.

  11. Thanks. That's a bugger, That's the only week I could have got until mid summer. Oh well...
