Hi all. Never got anything sprayed before, so not too wise as to costs. I've been quoted £240+ VAT+ Decals to get one of my fairings sprayed after a small low side. I'm not going to name who quoted. The damage can be seen below. A few surface scratches and the deep scuff. The fairing is not cracked and there is no damage other than what you can see. Is this reasonable? For that price I could probably bide my time and pick a fairing up off ebay. I have seen them for around the £200 mark, but they don't come up very often in good condition. cheers

Dont know tbh as only been aware of them since November I pulled a sticker off my new (to me) 1198s and it pulled a 50p sized holeoff right next to the decals Was gutted! They were brilliant and they needed to do the whole panel and decals which cost £120 I then had them do my 748s and they did whole panel again at £120 - they ended up doing it twice because they werent happy with the result they wanted to be perfect Dont know where you are based but I would 100% recommend Decent guys there as well and they are interested in bikes
Yes they did buy Altamura. I have just had a quote for them to respray my tank £250 plus decal Regards Steve
I'm not going with them. £240+ to respray a fairing is way too steep for me. The body shop at the local Nissan dealership can do it for half the price.
Is that what they quoted you? Why so much more than mine? Mine are red but can't see how that would be such a huge difference?
Maybe its the repair rather than the paint thats the money...but that is a lot of money! Almost new panel cost...
I guess it would bound to be more than a 'flat' colour (is it 'pearl' white?) as matching (and even painting procedure) is probably more of an issue but still sounds expensive.
what you need is one of those chips away firms i got one around when i pranged the bmw as it was only a srape in the paint and it did not cost that much
Just remember you get what you pay for and chips away is ok if your selling the car to take your eye off it but to a keen eye it will stand out a mile and 99% of ducati owners are very fussy it goes with the territory would you have chips away work on your Ferrari ?
