Anyone have a Showa 899 right fork laying around they want to sell? Previous owner sheered a pinch bolt in mine and I want to replace the fork to have 2 bolts clamping the spindle instead of the 1 currently holding it in place. Cheers
The foot is replaceable it screws off the fork stanchion there’s a locking screw on the inside of the foot with loctite on so have to heat it up a bit apparently as they sometimes are tight and strip the screw head Could you not just re tap the damaged thread or fit a helicoil?
Cheers guys, I’m going try and helicoil it but struggling to remove the broken bolt at the minute. Thought I’d see if there was a spare fork knocking about.
Well it could have been one of 2 previous owners, but my guess would be the guy who converted it to a tri-options bike. I’ll be checking fork pinch bolts before purchasing another bike from now on tho. Lesson learnt
