1199 Panigale Engine/assembly Stand.

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by ElliotW, Oct 29, 2019.

  1. I am going to be doing an engine swap over winter, and really don't want to spend loads of money on the peirobon assembly stand. What have others used? If you own one would consider lending it for a deposit and fee??Kent based

  2. You need a pierobon engine stand ideally, or an engine crate. I will have a few in stock soon, Drop me a message if you want one!

  3. get ingenious with the wood.......or angle iron..copy the pierobon one.

  4. Quite a good idea. Basically a modified paddock stand or buy at cheap one. Fairly straightforward and structurally secure. Change the feet supports for pins with rollers and you could move around,

  5. Buy the Ducati engine stand. I built my 1199, 1299 and V4 project bikes using it and it has definitely paid for itself

  9. Think the important part is the engine mount if tailored to engine lower profile for neat fit. The rest is box sections, supports , wheels and two scissor jacks. If no access to welding form the support section and link corners with right angles brackets from hardware shop. Four wheels and supports and fix scissor jacks to underside.

  10. The critical part is the hard nylon/delrin plastic engine sump moulding which is milled out to the exact profile of the sump and sits inside the engine jack/mount. The 1199/1299 one is identical. For the V4 I had to buy another one but used the existing stand as shown. Engine is rock solid once sitting in it, though the V4 engine is a little top heavy so you have to be careful moving it around as it can tip over.

  11. Hi Topolino,
Did the 1199 insert come with the stand as an assembly when you bought it or did you have to buy it separately? I don't see a separate part number in the parts diagram I'm assuming its an assembly?
    Thanks!

  12. The Delrin is a separate part, I spoke to the dealer yesterday.

  14. I ended up buying the whole lot from the dealer and it’s a good bit of kit. If anyone in Kent is in need drop me a line and we can sort out a rental price hahaha

  15. How about getting them copied?

  16. Such a tiny market I’d imagine and like most who have sorted themselves out, I’m alright now.....
The bottom part looks universal, the delrin part is smart and a good idea.

  17. As ElliotW correctly stated its a separate part. IIRC I paid about £250 for the two. I sold the delrin cup for the 1199/1299 on and simply bought a new one for the V4 which I use with the "old" stand. It is not as stable as Pierobon's stands but they are much more expensive.
