A report claiming an antioxidant in red grapes (used to make red wine) and peanuts may help prevent age-related decline in memory. I'd drink to that if I could remember where I've put the red wine & peanuts.... http://www.labnews.co.uk/news/compound-in-grapes-prevents-memory-loss/
Funny it should be those two things. The great wine writer Hugh Johnson was famously dismissive of pompous rules re which wine went with which which food, saying you should have whatever wine you liked with whatever food. But the one thing he said you couldn't have red wine with - since they murdered the taste of the wine - was peanuts!
I hate peanuts, so I try to drink bigger quantities of red wine. I figure that if I drink about 8 bottles a day then I should live to be 475 years old - the only trouble is that I won't remember any of those years so what's the point? I do live in the place to give it a try though.
