Peeling Tank Stickers :(

Discussion in 'Detailing and cleaning' started by LCjohnny, Jul 22, 2020.

  1. Well i have had my Monster 1200 for 3 1/2 years.
And I am guilty of cleaning it :(
This requires a certain amount of rubbing with cloths
and the tank stickers are coming away.
the "1200s" came off the front of the tank and the "Monster" on the sidens is now peeling at the edges :(:sob:

    Is there a solution?

  3. Hi Jack
    that is very helpful.
Does anyone know if there is a way of stopping the peeling (without damaging the paint) once it starts to lift

  4. Lacquering over them should sort that but that’s a big job just for a few stickers.

  5. A set of stickers for £10 every three years is probably the cheapest and easiest?

  6. Image Works is your friend. Their work is at least as good as OEM. They make a good cuppa if you're there for fitting...

Here's my red tank with their stickers.

  7. My 1200 monster did the same thing. I just bought new decals from ducati.

  8. Prior to applying new decals just wipe the area with IPA or Gtech Panel Wipe...this should promote a bond that will prevent the decals from lifting....once applied gently heat with a hair dryer....
