Hi There I was wondering if anybody would be kind enough to offer me any freedback on the 2017 PP or 18 however I guess I’m a bit premature for asking regarding the new model. I’ve ridden a 17 PP and the new 1260s, in essence I can’t make a decision.....I’m after something more touring orientaed as my riding miles seem to Be focussed in Europe - only one trip a year. The remaing miles are the odd Sunday morning blast around Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. I read a report in PB last week that really rated the 18 PP the journalist referred to it being close to a sportsbike In terms of handling, brakes and to a degree power. I’m concerned I may take the rather expensive plunge- that said my Tuono is still attaining strong PX and the dealer looks after me as I’m a good customer- and regret it..... I’m concerned if I do it I’ll love the PP on the tour however on return may regret it for Sunday morning blasts! LOL CONFUSED. Any feedback welcome please. Many thanks.
Both lovely bikes, had a decent extended test ride back to back yet?? And also, what sort of deal was offered in the 17? As I doubt much discount offered on the 1260 yet.
No not yet. I rode the 1260 MS for half an hour nobody has a PP 18 model demo yet. I love my Tuono on my second factory.
Tough one rizzo as the Tuono is awesome too, guess it depends on the best deal also. You been quoted costs to change on each yet?
Wait for a V4 Streetfighter or try KTM I demoed a Multi whilst owning a Tuono V4 1100. The Multi is a stonking bike but not in the same league as the Tuono when it comes to performance, it really depends on what you’re after but I suspect you’ll miss the roaring V4. Who knows though, maybe with a full system and the extra comfort the Tuono will be a distant memory. I toured Europe on my Tuono, and although it was great fun on road and track, it just became too uncomfortable for big mileage days, and they’re the best!
Switched from a V twin tuono to the original 1200 and had similar concerns, wondered if I should have bought a V4. But at the end of the day I was very happy with my choice, upgraded to a DVT and considering the new 1260 next year. Likewise I did Europe trips on the Tuno and when I look back it really was a PIA for touring. The multi has never left me wanting more.
Presumably there is a fair few grand between the value of the Tuono and the PP, why not keep the Tuono and buy an older secondhand MS for the difference. Run both for 2 or 3 months and see how you feel then. I`m pretty sure that way if you do decide to go for a new PP you will be more comfortable knowing you made the right choice and if you are careful and a bit lucky you wont lose out when you sell the secondhand MS.
As Noste says,if you can afford to have both, I have an fz1 for my sunday blast and use the multi for Europe trips, long weekends away and when out with the wife, and best of it is the wife doesn’t mind that kind of threesome
Yes good point, no doubt the v4 will make its way into a MTS. I did try the KTM which represents fantastic value compared to the PP, that said it just didn’t feel as quality as Ducati. Did you miss the Tuono.

I don’t miss it (well maybe the sound a little) but that’s probably because I went for a SuperDuke R and not an adventure style bike
