Hey, so just gotten those in the mail. I will only be able to check on my bike tomorrow, but I'm looking to see if someone has fitted those to their akra exhaust already? I suspect marking the drilling spot is going to be a pain in the arse, so looking for possibly some tips on getting the placement right. Did you have to remove the slip-on to make it easier? And since obviously there is no welded nut on this baffle, I would have to probably use loctite or something of the sort
I’ve done it. Fit the new baffles. Get a marker pen/sharpie. Poke through screw hole. Marked. The hardest bit is drilling the hole. Use a punch to make your start mark. HSS drill bit VERY slowly. Lubricant. Keep drill bit cool by dipping in water every few seconds. No loctite needed. Use a spring / split ring washer.
No room on outside as they are a very tight fit. No real benefit on inside. I tracked mine with these in and split ring with no drama.
Think overestimated where the bolt goes, it's not as far back/difficult as I thought Cool glad to hear someone used those, and it was good enough to be let on the track with akra?! Curious which track it was, and what db you were getting? I think no chance on zandvoort track
It blew 102db static at Mallory in wet mode, clutch in and leant over to the left. I ran it at Silverstone without baffles no worries. I got double black flagged at Donington in a 98Db drive by day. They said it was blowing 102db with the baffles in on the drive by! I think that was an error on their part. Mine was a 959 with Akra system. The Pipewerx baffles you have are much better than the Akra ones.
