Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa Sp's

  1. Have been running these from new and have found them great tyres, but at what point would you recon that they are "squared off"? What will I be feeling from the steering. The milage is just turned 5000 miles.
The centre of the tyres certainly feel flat!
    Many thanks

  2. Quite surprised you have done 5000 miles on a rear. Soft and sticky for plenty of grip but that compromises longevity. I’d consider myself lucky to get between 2-3000 miles. Andy

  5. Didn't even get 2000 from the 1199S but the monster is a different kettle of fish!
More interest in the feel that I would get with "squared Tyres"???

  6. If youre the same as me then a squared of tyre just before you tip into a corner feels like the bike is going to wash out from under you...and then yes, change the tyres...well, thats when i do anyway..

  7. Tyres are on order as we speak..
Have always probably replaced earlier than needed but have always had sports bikes.
Just wondered if it was me or riding a 'naked bike'.
It just seems to follow any banding on the road, ruts too! Makes my riding all over the place...

  8. Never skimp on tyres and brakes....

  9. 2.5k average when I used to run these on the 848. They were my go to tyre for years.

Never noticed a feeling when they needed changing, it was more the tearing you would see in the centre... usually immediately followed by canvas

  10. My Pirelli Super Corsa's lasted about 1800 miles then they were dead. They were fitted to a Monster 1200R. I switched to M7RR's and have done about 2000 so far with loads still left.

  11. I get 2500 to 3000 on the Panigale and just over 3000 on the scrambler

  12. I just had new tires and fork seals installed (ST4S/02) at one of the local MC shops.
All was fine with riding it for 4-5 days. After a 30 mile ride with a 100 lb girl on the back, I'm feeling this now too. The rear feels like it's not connected to the bike. Like it floats out. Also, when I look down at the triples and forks, they aren't straight. Left is out Right is more in closer to the frame. Handlebars are off to the right about 1/4 in too. The tire also looks twisted at an angle and off-center. I'm hearing little pings coming from the triple area and the forks feel rubbery when off the gas or pulling the clutch. Don't feel right when pulling up over a driveway curb.
Adding to this, The rear tire had slipped and the chain was FKN tight as hell. From the back of the bike to the bars. The bike looked twisted. It looks better after adjusting the chain. Any insight? Besides not having anyone else work on my bike.

  13. Sounds like the shop didn't put your forks back in the triple-clamps correctly and the forks are struggling to work properly. As for the rear, was the wheel put back in correctly after the new tyre? A lot of questions to ask the shop when you take it back!

  14. I did take it back. Everyone scattered like roaches when they heard me roll-up. They sent the kid out. And he said, " We don't work on Ducati's anymore". Uhh..? Ya, NO!
After explaining his problems to him. He relayed me to another mgr. After speaking with that manager and detailing the issues, damage, potential damage, risk to my safety and there is no torque wrench in their dealership "service department". He cut me a check for all the labor. I mentioned that any damaged items will be billed before leaving. I wanted to slap every one of them!

  15. Pal, 5K out of those = you don't need that type of tyre, it's a monster, plenty of sport/touring options available. :)
