Piston - Advice Needed

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by m@tt, Apr 29, 2017.

  1. Looking for some advice chaps
I'm rebuilding a 1000DS after the horizontal belt let go - heads are all rebuilt with new valves and guides , and the bottom end was deemed fine as I was lucky with light touching of the piston to valve
On cleaning up the pistons prior to rebuild there are signs of where the piston / valve met and I'm looking for advice on what to do with this
Should I leave as is or will I get some hotspots ?
    Should I polish out ?

    Thanks

  2. It's OK, leave as is. IMHO.

  4. I agree with Pete. There are no burrs or sharp edges. It should be OK as it is.

  5. Thanks Derek
