Just a bit of info - Pistonheads used to have standard bike ads for free. I tried to put a couple of adverts up a couple of weeks ago and it took me to the payment page where it allows you to cancel then appears that the ad is live. The ads didn't show and after sending them an email, they informed me that they aren't running free ads anymore even though their T&C stated to the contrary.
Cheers for this. I was about to list my GSXR on there but I'll opt for eBay classifieds instead if the current ad on Bike Trader doesn't result in any interest.
Trouble is you find bikes on gumtree can go walkies... The stupid map .. Does not pinpoint you exactly but I've heard of some for sale parked out of the road covered and when they have advertised in gumtree. The bikes been lifted.
Handy advice. My bike is on Gumtree just now but I chose not to show the map. If someone is looking at the ad and it's in the ballpark area they are looking for I don't think the map is any more use at all than what they already know. The potential buyer still has to call to arrange a viewing so they can get directions then in my view. I asked for some advice on selling a bike on the PB forum and there were a lot of points made that really make you think. It's easy to forget how easy it is to steal a bike if you wanted to.
