Is the pre- load thread pitch on the Showa forks 1mm? or, If I turn the pre- load adjuster 1 complete revolution will that alter the pre load by 1mm? hoping someone will answer that for me.
I can't answer the actual question, but I would have thought 1mm pitch was a bit fine given the diameter of the adjuster.... However, the SS preload range is 10mm - 25mm; factory setting 18mm. That's from the top of the big 'nut'/top cap to the top of the preload adjuster 'nut'. I can't provide you with my settings as I don't have OEM springs. AL
It's going to depend on your spring rate. What i'd do is wind them all the way out, measure the sag, then wind them all the way in and measure the sag again. It's going give you an idea of the range of adjustment you've got so you could at least work out roughly how much each line adjusts the height.
