Hi everyone, I purchased an 899 from a friend a month ago as he had a minor crash on it, and sold it to me at a good price, since then ive rebuilt it (consisted of replacement nose cone, headlights etc.), but my problems didn't start there, ive done bout 1000miles since it was finished 2 weeks ago an ive had this happen : I was out for a ride yesterday, riding relatively fast and hard, then my dash began to flash at me, all the warning lights along the top were flashing, ive got not rev counter, no gear indicator, no TC, ABS or BBS level showing and the quickshifter isn't working, mechanically the bike was still running, I just had to clutch the upshifts. I manage to get the bike home, and remove the aftermarket integrated tail light that the previous owner had installed, but im having the same issue. sometime when I turn it on, the dash starts normally, the bike starts but after about 5 seconds or so, cuts itself out and the dash lights up again, the rest of the time the dash is already flashing when I turn it on and when you press the start button it'll click, not dissimilar to how a bike clicks when the battery is dead. Things ive done : Checked all the visible connections around the ECU etc. Removed aftermarket electronics. Checked fuse box. Checked wires for splits and possible earthing somewhere. Has anyone come across this issue? im hoping its an easy fix and that I wont have to resort to a new ECU and fitting at a dealer, as im aware this will be very expensive for me! Thanks for your help guys! and if there are any members in the sussex area that can lend a hand on this issue, id be eternally grateful!
looks like this fella had a similar issue, might be worth dropping him a pm to see what the fault was? http://ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/dash-fault-help.40506/
