Pocket Doors

  1. Anyone have any experience?

  2. HAL: Affirmative, Dave. I read you.

Dave: Open the pod bay doors, HAL.

HAL: I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

    Dave: What's the problem?

HAL: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.

Dave: What are you talking about, HAL?

HAL: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.

Dave: I don't know what you're talking about, HAL.

HAL: I know that you and Frank were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.

    Seems troublesome to me.

  6. Hi Cream
Yes mate, I use Eclipse pocket door systems on some of our bathroom refurbishments.
Easy to install when replacing or constructing a stud wall, we mainly use the frosted glass doors to customers en suites. Only problem we encounter is due to the pocket door nature you are limited to future wall mountings (ie mounting a radiator)
One tip is to have a semi permanent top door architrave in case you need to access the top door adjustment in the future.
    Cheers, Doug

  7. Eclipse are a good make? I've seen that it's worth while getting something 1/2 decent as you can't get to the running gear.

  8. It’s the only brand I have any experience with mate. With any pocket door installation it’s important to keep level & plumb throughout the construction to avoid problems with the door running. Also bear in mind your floor finish as height adjustment is limited.

  9. I have installed loads of them but unfortunately here in NZ so not much help. Also, we call them cavity sliders here which is prob NOT something you can safely google.
So you have to be meticulous when setting them up to avoid the door from moving either out of it's closed or open position
