Poor starting

  1. recently I have been suffering with poor starting on my 848 it's ok from cold or hot but in between it can be a pig to start, after a 300 mile ride at the weekend i came back and my leathers absolutely stunk of exhaust fumes could this be part of the problem? It still is under warranty and I will be taking it in sometime next week just wondering if anybody else will have suffered the same problem?

  2. I had what sounds like the same issue. Mine would start fine first time but second it would take ages and stank of petrol......most embarrassing after stopping for a cuppa at a biking cafe.

I took it in and they changed the plugs which sorted it but at the service they ran a diagnostic and they think one of the lambda sensors was playing up. Essentially it was changing the fuelling but then not resetting when it was turned off (or something). That got replaced and its been fine.

  3. Same again after fitting full Termignoni system and new ecu any ideas ?

  4. i think the full race ecu eliminates the lambdas so don't think they'll be connected. bet it's something simple and since it's under warranty...
let us know how you get on.

  5. and ask them to do a TPS reset while they're at it.

  6. Spark plugs?
