899 Portimao Gearing

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by carson, Dec 19, 2018.

  1. Off to Portimao in March with NL and the prep has started already with it being winter and all that.

Bike needs a new chain so might as well look into sprockets as well. I'm currently running standard gearing but not sure how that'll work at Portimao?

Any of you guys changed the standard gearing for Portimao on the 899 and found any improvement?

  2. Drop one off the front. Works 90% of places :upyeah:

  3. @Nelson might be able to help.

  5. Start straight is quick on and I could see a std bike hitting pretty high revs, certainly on an 848, dont know about 899. I rode a 750 there, and was doing sub 2’10’s (not quick, not too slow) and wasn’t revving out in top on std gearing (borrowed bike)

  7. Thanks guys

  8. I had two extra on the rear. If there wasn’t such a strong headwind down the start/finish I would have been a bit short, however it was fine with the conditions we had.
