agh its not going well fuming spent the best part of an hour fixing a power commander and after breaking fingers to screw the connectors together the bugger will not light up and bike will not start tried the 9v battery adaptor and the lights will not come on on the pc aghhhh any ideas
Are you absolutely sure you successfully connected the DIN-type connectors? They are, as you know by now, absolute bastards to connect. The first time I did mine, I thought I'd connected it correctly but my PCIII showed no life at all. Turned out that I hadn't located the connections correctly. The second attempt failed too but this was because I had a faulty earth lead from the PCIII. Quickly discovered that issue and sorted it.
Omg but with the 9v battery connected it still would not light up I'm giving up for a minute I loosing my rag I'll try and try again
Mine wouldn't light up until it was all correctly connected up. I thought I had a duff PCIII until I finally got it all connected. I cable-tied mine to a bit of the frame above the battery. This involved, in my case, having a longer than standard earth lead in order to reach the negative terminal on the battery.
Nope tried again not playing going to put a new earth lead on it tomorrow and try a brand new 9v battery
The PCIII wouldn't light up with just the 9V attached, but I was able to look at and load up maps, with the 9V connected and the PCIII plugged into my laptop (if I recall correctly!). The only time I would see the light show on the PCIII on boot-up, or see the indicator go from "most lean" to the next bar up when operating the throttle, was when the PCIII was fully and properly connected up to the bike.
Got in touch with power commander if I send it them back they will fix it for about 20 quid fingers X
