Premier Helmets - experience?

  1. I so nearly posted this elsewhere so Matt would have to move it to clothing

Does anyone have experience of Premier helmets? I met the family behind the brand in Italy this year - what nice people. I need a new lid next year and thought maybe try something new. I tried one on and it was soooo nice inside!

They sponsored Nannelli most of his career, so maybe it would be nice to ride one of his bikes wearing the correct helmet

  2. Mate had one. Looked quite nice, nicely made too. He loved it he bought another and still uses them. :upyeah:

  3. Cool thanks. I'm guessing that there's not much experience of them.

  4. Phil Read wore Premier helmets..

  5. There's an article in today's MCN about them. Sounds like they've been around quite a while and are certainly not tat.

  6. yeah, they look really nice. When you've got a £650 Arai on your bonce, you have a lot of confidence in it. A Premier carbon shell is about £350 - £300 cheaper - so it's good to know where they sit in terms of safety.

  7. Would it be a fashion crime today to wear leathers like Phil Read's above??

PS....Nothing wrong with Italian helmets IMO (I have one of the Bell helmets made in Italy....quality is fine.)

  8. It would Arqy if you were in possession of a substantial belly. Other than that it would look pretty cool imo. Especially on a period motorcycle. But youve got to have the physique to be able to carry it off or else charisma similar to Ago.

  9. I have no experience of Premier helmets ,I just wouldn't buy one based on the logo , I don't like it , I guess I've got to used to recognising the Arai and Shoei brand as being market leaders , even if Premier's quality is equal it'll still bring up "cheap" on my gaydar.

  10. Still a bit this shape...........

I'm thinking of having it made into a two piece, though.....

  11. Well, I was properly impressed by the quality when I tried one in Milan, darhlink

I thought of the one guy I know who's crashed in one - Nannelli. So I asked him if they were good. As good as Arai he said. So, for £300 less than an Arai, I thought I'd give it a go. I ordered the top lid, which is made out of the same carbon and titanium weave that Zonda use for their new tart mobile. I'm not going to try crash testing it, but I'll try most other things.
