It's not as if anyone liked Clinton anyway.
Trump didn't win because US voters are simpletons who believe he is the Messiah. He won because he isn't Hilary Clinton. They didn't vote for him, they voted against her. I would have done the same if I was a US voter. I would rather have done it in favour of someone like Jeb Bush but that was not to be because Trump was very shrewd in concentrating his attacks from the outset on Clinton's personal integrity and her internationalist/technocratic/political elitism. That made him the Not Clinton candidate. That was why he and not a proper and more restrained politician like Jeb Bush won the Republican primaries to become the Presidential candidate.
