Hi! I've been registered some time now and have sent private messages previously, but now this seems to have been locked. I have seen mention to a 30 post count to unlock this feature..that I already had. What's the point? I just want to ride my Ducati, read up on all the common faults..and there seems to be a lot with my new to me Hyper 1100.. can't quite believe you can't wash it without upsetting the immobiliser! ..and send the occasional PM to buy some parts..in particular, I like the idea of this sump guard that's currently advertised. I've been registered since late 2019! I appreciate forums are about "posting" but we live in a world where people don't shut up and I don't really want to partake in spamming posts, unless I have something valuable to add. ....Especially when I like the technical forums, there's nothing worse than trawling through rubbish to find useful information.
If you post in the item for sale a request that the seller start a conversation then you can exchange messages.
You’ve made 20 posts. The 30 post rule was introduced a couple of years ago as we had a spate of “some people” joining the forum who successfully scammed people out of several hundred pounds, and then disappeared. Sorry if this rule has inconvenienced you but since its introduction it has stopped “chancers” coming on and doing that.
If you ask me, 30 posts is too low. You could post up 30 replies on threads in under 10 minutes, if focussed.
Unless of course the focus is on word association. You can rack up 30 posts in minutes when the heat is on!
I appreciate wanting to remove scammers, however it has inconvenienced me but I'll get over it...one more post down.
@RickyX It is a lovely city..too busy though. Wish there were more hills to make for better biking roads! Which model do you ride?
I find Cambridge a bit strange - like a fenland village with an enormous University population overlaid on top and neither community interacts with the other.
