with and injection of cash from a Yorkshire Businessman just before the whole project was going to be auctioned off... he said on the news he had some explaining to do to his wife https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-46591860
Erm...how much are the project leaders paying themselves? Finding their salaries in their accounts is difficult but looks like it ranges from 70-250k pa
Met with them a few years ago when we were considering sponsoring the network connectivity and CDN for the run in SA (delays meant it didn’t happen), very nice outfit and some stellar people. I’m pleased to see them rescued.
Too old. Too sceptical. Been around tech businesses too long. 5m doesn’t last long when you have ‘concepts’ on the table and a few expensive mouths to feed....great project but its been running for years, the thing is no faster than a Bugatti and its using all its cash very quickly...#jadedbyexperience #circuitofwales
By way of an update, the Bloodhound Land Speed Record car has been running at Hakskeen Pan in South Africa last month. These were planned trial runs to iron out problems and work up to speed, using the jet engine only (i.e. not the Nammo rocket). Runs were done at 200 mph, 400, 450, etc getting up to a successful run at over 600 mph. That would be pretty good going for any other car, but Bloodhound is designed to exceed 1,000 mph. The team and the car have returned to the UK now, and will be preparing for record setting runs next year. A new LSR will have to be over 760 mph, as a first go. Then its on up from there. Plenty of YouTube and FaceBook posts about this, if interested.
