1200 Proper Demo At Last

  1. Was supposed to do a trip to Wales yesterday but my Aprilia Tuono was out of action (busted radiator).

My mate's got a Triumph 675 and a '14 PP Multistrada, so offered to let me use one so we could still do the ride.

Had the 675 first. Great bike but for a 6ft guy its a tad cramped. I quickly remembered why I've given up Sportsbikes for the road.

Managed to grab the Multi at Crossgates. There are some cracking roads around there. Took a bit of getting used to (esp. after 3 hours on the 675) but after a few miles I was starting to get it - even scraping my boots on some corners. His PR4s are a bit squared off so the rear felt odd, but still felt planted.

This ride was just what I needed. I've had a demo of the DVT but an hour isn't enough if you've never ridden this type of bike before. It takes time to get accustomed to the riding style.
I rode the bike for 3 solid hours and he had to prise the key out of my KungFu grip at the fuel stop.

I'm going to try and time it to get a new DVT delivered for Christmas. I was a kid the last time I ran downstairs to find a new bike sat there. Granted, the surprise element has gone, but who cares. :)

You've got a cracking bike here boys. Yes there are niggles but it rides so well. Love it! :upyeah:
