pushrod holder plug on rear of engine

  1. Hi,

I have removed the plug on the rear of the engine near the swing arm as it was rusty. The manual refers to it as pushrod holder. Its a long plug with a spring. What exactly does it do?

    Cheers

  2. that will be the technical vulva locating spring……...

  3. Could that be the detent bolt ? It has a long spring and a ball bearing at the end, if so I think it locates onto the gear selector drum.

  4. oh go on then...

  5. Looking in the parts list, Steve is bang on (as usual). From the picture, it looks like it stops the selector drum from rotating too far. Andy

  6. Ahh that makes sense, thanks for the quick replies. Thought it was just a blanking plug at first so was going to chuck it in with the rest of the stuff to get yellow zinc plated. But as it's in the engine oil may not be a good idea.
