Morning, can anyone recommend a high quality timber shed/workshop supplier who does nationwide delivery? Ta
I had a look last year and none of the prefab sheds I could find were suitable, all had piss weak floors, £5 worth of felt roof etc. By the time I’d fucked about reflooring, insulating, waterproofing and the rest I’d have spent more than if I did it myself and using some decent timber stud and cladding
haven’t got round to building it yet! Decided against tantalised for the stud work though, I don’t intend to have any water coming through the walls and tanalised is a pain in the arse to work with
I've built a few. This is the latest and I will be building another quite soon. Tanalised timber and cladding. Took me about a week to build the structure and clad it.
I recently built a log cabin from these people. https://www.tuin.co.uk/Log-Cabins.html Good quality and quite straight forward. Took 3 days to build plus the time for the base. It was a 4m X 5m cabin, 44 mm logs, double glazed windows and double glazed double doors.
My mate has just built one similar from here. https://www.waltons.co.uk/?msclkid=...Brand [brd:Y] [pro:N] [ad:T] [dev:D] [mat:EP] Very good for the money. His was 5m x 4m double doors and two windows all double glazed for £2850.
We looked at those as well, I can't remember why we went with Tuin, I suspect it was a better price. One thing I liked was the guarantee to use spruce and not pine and no finger jointed logs.
Just spent the last hour working my way around the Tuin web site. Have to say I’m really impressed by the take it or leave it advice and the depth to which the advice goes in to. Been planning a man cave for a couple of years and this post has re-energised my enthusiasm to get my arse in gear. Andy
We’ve got two of the Tuin cabins. Just be aware the timbers expand and shrink at various times of the year and a different rates so you might end up with a few gaps appearing in places.
The same happens with the tongue and groove boarding that I use. It's the nature of timber. I've tried composite cladding as well and that expands like mad in direct sunlight.
