I have installed in my new bike but was wondering how do you act in case the alert goes off when you are say on holiday abroad? I read that Road Angel support centre cannot start tracking the vehicle until you have reported the stolen bike to the police, which you couldn't I presume do while away?
As far as I was to beleive it tracks ALL the time so much so that you can log online and track your routes!!
It does track your bike all the time. You can select to be alerted by the control room if you bike is moved, so even if abroad a nice person should call you to let you know it's moving. You'll also get a text and email and you can nominate other numbers in case they can't get hold of you. Pretty smart really......just need to remember if you take the bike to trackdays in the back of a van you need to uncheck the box that alerts the control room, otherwise they'll call. They usually know when I'm doing a trackday......:Facepalm::Eggonface: *edit* It does save a fair bit of cash on the insurance as well, £300 for me this year which paid for the unit. Should be a similar amount next year although will probably fall away in later years with increased no claims. Tbh I wasn't particularly keen on being tracked everywhere, but I mainly do trackdays on it these days so if they wanna watch me go round and round in odd shaped circles they are more than welcome to.
Yep I always forget when cleaning her and text or cal comes through Also if I forget to put the trickle charger on they text to say battery is running low...which helps forgetful me
Yes it does track all the time but apparently they can start liaising with the police only after receiving a stolen bike report you must have obtained first. Which - this is my point - might not be possible to get while you are away abroad
