  1. Howdo!!

Can anyone shed any light on quick shifters???? Are they just a track day item or can they be used on the road???? Just seen a JHP techtronics one for sale (For a 916 - not sure if that would fit ST3 wiring?)

    Cheers Pablo

  2. Speak to Arthurbikemad on here, I'm sure he'll give you all the help and info you need regarding them.

He is also selling the one from his road going 848, again not sure of the fitment, but would imagine the connecting rod would be different for all applications.

  3. They aren't 'illegal' to use on the road AFAIK and I can tell you they are 110% fun.

  4. I have one on my 1199 and I must say its one of my favourite parts of the bike.

Can be used on the road so much fun. Out of town tho

  5. Cheers Anth, I sell HM Plus shifters see hmquickshifter.com uses a programable strain gauge sensor to shift at the right point and has adjustable kill times to give slick shifts where you like in the rev range.

  6. Has anyone got any info on the HM race pattern quickshifter (Pictures, advice, experience)?? E-mailed HM but no response yet so just trying to gain as much info as possible.

I believe these may just be for Ducati's with the coil in the spark plug cap? Having never had a Duke with such coils I'm unsure. My bike has twin plug heads (DS) and remote coils, would this just be a case of adopting the harness to fit? Or am I on to a loser straight away??? Believe there are other items such as HM ignition module??? Might not be the plug n play system I hoped for :frown:

The bike is not running a PC111, remapped ECU.

    Cheers in advance Pablo

  7. My 848 has one as standard. It's one of the things I really like - saves about 40% of regular clutch changes, so it's great on the left wrist/hand :upyeah:

  8. Hi odd that HM did not reply they are norm very good.

The HM should not be compared with any other shifter as its in a league of its own, I will not comment on the OEM Ducati shifters or the likes of BMW! Twin spark heads, that's a first for me but I would guess it can be done with the HM ignition controller that works with the HM PC (power commander model) you do not need any other electronics like PC3 etc as the system cuts the coils as you know, if you were interested let me know and I will talk with HM for you and make sure it would work.. 9. Howdo Arthur,

Will try HM again on Tuesday and explain what I'm trying to achieve. The twin plug heads are similar to the Ducati 1000DS. I'm just worried that I've got a shifter kit that's not appropriate for my bike, then I need another two other HM modules (Another £400) to get it to work. Hopefully a quick chat will clarify the way ahead. Thanks for the offer Arthur will be pestering you soon :upyeah:

  10. No problem mate, ask for Dave at HM he will help you out with info, any problems just PM me..

  11. Howdo!

Well called HM and pointed in the direction of Gareth (Unfortunately is on his hols, however sent him an e-mail) Having looked at the ST3 wiring diagram Against the 999 there are a few differences. St3 utilises IAW59M v 999 IAW5AM2 (Not sure if this is the same in 1098/1198/MonsterS4??) How this has an effect I'm not sure.
Both receive signals from the CAN/ECU, positive from the same line as the fuel pump.
The 999 coils then have a 0v/Neg from the reg/rec, however the HM just takes the Signal & positive line from the coils as the negative is on a fly lead - chassis.
