  1. Have had occasion to use the above in France. Exceptional service. Does anyone know is this service abroad is actually run by the RAC or whom? They all spoke excellent English but were so efficient that I wonder if they were RAC people. Picked up in 30 minutes on two separate occasions.

  2. I've been dealing with this month since the van broke down on the way to the Nurburgring. They have been absolutely awesome. I actually bought the top level euro cover whilst waiting for the channel tunnel train at Folkestone at a cost of £250. Three hours later I was broke down in Belgium! As it was a Saturday evening they taxi'd me about 45 minutes to Brussels airport hire car center (about 150 euro) I then got a hire car for the rest of the week (about £900), and they would pay £50 a night towards a hotel and up to £1000 towards the labour for the van repair. Since the repair took over a week they payed for the Eurostar to get me back out to Belgium this week and another 150 euro taxi to the van! So for an outlay of £250 from me I've probably had £2500 worth of service back from them. I'm going to switch my membership to auto renew as it's been priceless.

  3. Thanks folks, I've always had AA as I use them in UK but heard baaaaaaad stories and TBH even their UK service isn't what it was. Great to hear some personal testimonials for RAC in Europe.

Know where my renewal is going!

  5. I use the RAC but never auto renew - they will sting you for more than you need to pay!!! You can buy using Tesco vouchers at 4 x value too which is what I do :)

  6. No. They are a company in Lyon, but this time of year you have a lot of UK students heading here for the summer to test and use their language skills. They used to be owned by RAC until a few years ago :)

  7. Bradders any idea what they are called? I sent a well done email but would very much like to really shower some praise on the one individual who did so much to help me. As reply before they have paid a fortune in taxi and hotel bills for me. When I sent the well done email it said we will reply in five days. That was eight days ago so back to UK service level. My cover was part of my insurance package so think I paid £45 extra must have had at least a £1000 so far and just about to send them a bill for the first night that I had to pay myself. I will certainly never use anyone else but it would be nice to know if it is a French outfit.
