Race/track Bike Loom

  1. In the midst of a track bike build and have come to the point of looking at all of the trailing light connectors at the front of the bike.

The price of a custom loom from Bike sport Developments is well out of my budget so was considering picking up a used loom and butchering it to remove the wiring for the lights.

Has anyone got any experience of this? My bike is a 959 but in the most part the looms from the 899, 1199, 1299, seem very similar - I know for example the rapidbike loom is the same for all of them so at least in those areas they are the same.

Obviously the ideal scenario would be to get a 959 loom but in order to widen the net and allow me to pick the cheapest loom available it would be nice to know if the other would work.

    Thanks

  2. i have a BSD loom now on my 1198.. previously i got a 1198 loom and stripped it down removing all the unnecessary stuff. bit of a faff and you have to take your time with a sharp stanley knife blade but amazing how much you can remove. Word of warning as it'll be can line you dont want to be removing shared wires....
