There are lots of calipers but which is better and more lightweight. Please disregard the extremely expensive racing calipers because they cost £1000 or more. I'm thinking of a radial brake upgrade but are unsure of which caliper. I know about the different size i.e. 100/108mm what I want to know is are monoblocks as fitted to 848/98 better and lighter or is the difference to small as to make a difference. Plus are the Brembos fitted to Suzuki's GSXR1000 and BMW S1000RR and Aprillia the same. As in these pics
The M4's I put on my 848 are definitely way better for their stopping power, but they certainly didn't feel any lighter than the stock Brembos I took off. I think your major upgrade will be the fact that you go radial, especially if your changing the fork bottoms rather than bolting adapters on to convert to radial.....as that would still cleave conventional connections to the fork. I know the M4's of the factory Aprilia RSV are the same, and turn up on fleabay loads cheaper than 'Ducati' ones, but they are usually gold coloured.
Thanks d8mok , I'm a tyre kicker at the moment , looking at a set of forks ,so will be dependant on that.
