Anyone got any recommendations for either. Early stages of getting stuff for my yet to be bought van. Dont mind paying more for stuff made in EU or UK
Oxford ratchet straps, which have a full “S” hook rather than a more open hook…. if that makes any sort of sense? The Oxford ones also have a loop on the ratchet end so that you can use that to go around the frame, rather than having to use the open end and having the ratchet at the bottom. Not particularly cheap but feel nicely made
nice one thanks what about these and the chock https://www.oxfordproducts.com/motorcycle/brands/oxford/travel_and_transportation/bar_strap_kit/
https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/lift-bench-wheel-chocks.86028/#post-1840779, the link at #3. IME, ratchet lashings can be excessive, I use cam buckle straps, this is just an example of what’s out there, https://slingsandstraps.co.uk/product/cam-buckle-tie-down-straps/. I dislike the handle bar straps, you can over compress the forks, potentially causing seal failure. Andy
For securing have you thought of the rod through the swingarm pivot with eye bolts either side? I made my own but there is a guy on Facebook who makes them for all sorts of models
https://www.rg-racing.com/browsetype/Tie-Down-Hooks/Ducati/959_Panigale/TH0002/ R&G do tie downs. I use them on mine. (I blacked out the R&G logo tho)
Constands wheel chock is very good. Sturdy and holds the bike up whilst you strap it. They do 2 versions; a standalone with feet and one that has rails you can bolt to the floor.
These for the front end, with 4x small ratchet straps, 2 straps front, 2 straps rear https://jsaccessories.co.uk/product/bike-it-bar-support-straps-48746 £13.99 for the bar strap from J&S £9.99 for the ratchet straps frim Aldi £36.99 for the wheel chock from Ebay
Ktm tie down straps are the best I've used. Pricey compared to the ratchet strap sets , but I've not had one slip , stretch or come lose in the last 15+ years. https://ktmdirect.co.uk/products/la...tVgtEP_Ot_KoUS0jC8dteAzckTMvDhFgaAgYEEALw_wcB Some of these come in handy too. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/23479007...-9318-2250449e11a6|iid:1|vlpname:vlp_homepage
Depending on funds and wishes, by far the best system I ever used was the Pitbull (no straps) trailer restraint system. No hassle, very quick, very secure. https://www.instagram.com/p/CNrTOaAnwmq/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
