Re-anodise Control Levers......

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Speedy23, Mar 27, 2021.

  1. Is it possible? Is it cost-effective? What do you guys think?

My 20 year old levers are now showing their age. Don't wanna go aftermarket so would like to refurb originals. Cost of replacement would likely be through the roof?

On another note, getting into the Ducati groove....particularly impressed with the way I have to remove lower fairing panel (900SS) to top up oil, couple of seized wellnuts but luckily had replacement to hand.....

Then when I got it off I could see into the (slipper) clutch....looked pretty manky, basket was dusty/rusty but it works well enough so gonna leave it for the time being...

Also moved gear lever up by about 10mm....it's made all the difference to the change...well pleased! Then put it all back together, went out for a ride :upyeah::upyeah::upyeah:

Still very pleased with my new toy. Thanks to everyone for all the help given so far!

    This is a great site!

    Cheers

  2. Anodise is cheap. Couple of levers shouldn't be more than a tenner.

  3. That was quick! Thanks. Now to consult the small ads in the back of Classic Bike...or does anybody know anyone in S Warks area who could do it?

  4. Just Google anodising in your local area. We have at least 10 companies near me in Northants. They dip it in acid to etch it and then re-anodise any colour you want.
