RealRider smartphone App

  1. Just seen a little report on this in the newspaper ...

If your phone's tilt & motion sensor suggests you might've had an accident, the RealRider app sends an alert to your phone. If you don't or can't cancel it, it contacts the emergency services with your GPS position. Useful if you are on your own - remember the biker who spent days in a ditch recently after an accident!?!

To be launched on Saturday - £4.99

  2. I guess I know for which phone ;). Still wonder how accurate it will be?

  3. iPhone and Droid ... no mention of Any others

  4. Thread resserection alert........

I just found this app, in theory it sounds a brilliant idea until you read the small print.......

For the crash detection feature to work you MUST have the app open & be recording your route ( which is saved & available for everyone to see when finished) who has a current subscription, the phone must be on you NOT THE BIKE
then in the event that it thinks you have had a accident you have 120 seconds to get your phone out & Disable the 999 call being made with your GPS location

Oh..... and you must have a phone signal
