1200 DVT Rear Mudguard Rubbing On Wheel

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Groutmaster, Jul 6, 2017.

  1. hi guys.

Well I'm only just cleaning my multi after 2000miles in France. Whilst over there I split the rear tyre on a rock so had to get a new one fitted. I've just noticed the wheel has been rubbing on the rear guard! Is there a spacer the fitter could of left out?
I feel ashamed I never checked before leaving the tyre place but it had been a long day!

  2. Panic over! The bottom screw had dropped out the rear guard causing the guard to wedge in the wrong place

  3. Bloody spooky, the exact same thing happened to me whilst out Sunday, it turns out a car bumper clipped it whilst reversing and popped the screw and ripped the thread right out and it looked identical to yours, unfortunately my rim needs a paint now after 30 miles on it.
I Only spotted it whilst lubing the chain.

  4. That is weird! Will the plastic not polish off your rim?
I don't know how long mine has been like it. Got really worried the wheel had been put on wrong though!

  5. Unfortunately it's gone right down to base coat I think.
It had me and the mrs scratching our heads when we see it, I couldn't figure out how it had been forced up into that position. CCTV at the place we stopped for a coffee caught the car swiping it, bastards.
Yours was hit also I reckon, even if that bottom bolt was missing, there's no way it could end up in that position.
