Rear Number Plate Hanger - Something Wrong?

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by TNJ, Jun 28, 2017.

  1. Morning all - my first post after the newbie introductions.

Got to work this morning on the Monster 821 to find one of the rear indicators hanging off. Looking at the number plate hanger assembly, I can just lift the top part of the plastic, put the indicator back in and then push the plastic back down.

Should there not be some sort of fastener to stop this happening? I cannot see where it would go or that anything is missing, but otherwise I can foresee the indicators will keep getting shaken/rattled enough to keep coming loose.

    Any thoughts?

  2. Yep, that's not normal, do you have a photo?

  3. Will try and get one done at lunch and will have a closer look - there has got to be a bolt/fastener missing but I cannot spot where from....

  4. Spotted the problem when I got home. There are supposed to be two screws underneath the tail tidy that screw the two parts together - except my bike does not have either of them!! A bit disappointing as I now have the hassle of getting back to the dealer this weekend to get this sorted (dealer is 20 miles or so away). Leaves me wondering what other screws are missing.....!

  5. Mmm, yes it's worrying when you realise they've missed something but hopefully that's all and t should be an easy fix. Very annoying though. I've been extremely lucky and have a great dealer who provides excellent customer service.
