Hi all, I was about to order a R&G rear stand, just checking what the correct pin size is? Is it the 21.8mm one? Ive noticed other makes of stands have slightly smaller pin sizes from 21.5mm to 21.7mm. Anyone confirm 21.8mm will fit? 2003 998 BIP BTW. Thanks, Bill
Mine measures 25.9 on the pin - it's fitted to a 2002 998 BIP but it has Ducati Magnesium Wheels fitted.
Will me going to the garage and measuring mine for the 996 with 5 spoke be any use? Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Normally on 2 sizes of pin fit a Ducati. Small pin should fit the following :- Monster 1100/ S4RS / Hypermotard /916 / 996 / 998 / 848 & SF848 should The narrow bit is 21.7mm and the wider part at the Paddock Stand end is 25.7mm The bigger Pins fit :- 10/ 1198 11/ 1299 Multilstrada / 1098SF.
The very early registered 1098's had a slightly bigger spindle hole, However when the 1098s / Tricolour's came out Ducati went to a 2mm smaller size. I had 1 of the larger pins and got it milled down slightly to what is now the standard size for 1098 etc.
The pin on my DP stand for a MY02 748 with standard 5 spokes (same rolling chassis as the 998) is 25.6mm and 21.7mm for the outer it. It goes all the way in on the 25.6mm bit
FYI, emailed R&G today, they replied back ..."That is correct the 998 will need the PIN1 with the diameter of 21.8mm" Hope its not an interferance fit!!
