I want to take the rear shock off and give it a clean up over the winter, is this easy, it looks like the Termis are in the way on the right hand side, do they have to be removed,, do I take the shock separate or got to be the complete top rocker unit as well, ride hight adjuster ,,any suggestions / advice welcomed ,,plzzzzz ???
well fortunately I found quite a good rite up in the " tech help " section,, will be attempting that today..
gonna tackle this again today,,,, I found the pin to be very tight,, ( what torque is it put to ),, is it just a case of plenty of force, crack it off and screw it all the way out,, or is there something hidden ???????
TT it should be straightforward. I presume you are having problems with the lower bolt ? It could be a bit seized in there. I was lucky on mine, a 10year old 749 that had never been apart, but it came out very easily. I would suggest that you use a good quality hex tool as you don't want to bugger up the cap head. Probably a sharp crack to free the bolt initially, rather than slow applied torque would be the best technique.
thanks Crystal,,,, all off now nate, ready for a clean up tomo,, hydraulic jack to keep the weight off..
