Thought id start a new thread as the old kinda tailed off and digressed. Assuming i get my engine cases back on the bike any time soon my next bit of OCD'ness was the front barrel, which, gets pretty well everything from the road and as a result of shit coating, well, now looks shit also. So, on the other thread but kinda moving to this one i think ive pretty well got all the knowledge... I suppose the initial question is...assuming i get the head and cylinder off - i want to get them coated....the cerakoating guy will want to sandblast them...he will of course do some sort of masking off but - would the guts of the head have to come out or can it be masked off...? itll make the job 10 times easier...
Don't use sandblasting, soda blasting is less aggressive and won't leave debris to damage your engine parts, talk to the person who will do the finish coat,is there much heat in the process ? The operator will know how much you will need to strip of to get the best results, some paints can be used very successfully if applied by a professional who knows his job,
