I've got a replacement rhs fairing for my 05 999 that has a couple of pillar lugs snapped off on the inside. I've superglued them into place but they're going to need reinforcing. Both the lugs fit to the fairing with a U shaped thin walled pillar. I can build the outside of the piller with a few mm of something, I'm thinking maybe milliput or glass fibre. The 05 999 fairing is made from Terblend not abs. Any suggestions chaps? Cheers, Keith.
Not repaired one before but I would suggest: Plastic weld with a soldering iron (using ABS: acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), then tidy by sanding and for extra strength fill and smooth a good radius fillet on with araldite: this will be strong. Fibre glass will work but a bit OTT
Haven't done welding. I'm a bit nervous to try it as the lugs go to the back of showy bits, one is the push in spigot at the cheek of the nose, the other is on the barge board.
