Retired 999

Discussion in 'Builds & Projects' started by Cathalp, Mar 10, 2019.

  1. Seeing as my 999 is a pile of scrap, I may as well make some use of it.
I'm building an FJ1100 classic superbike, using a CMR racing products frame. Same frame as used by Josh Hayes to win race 4 at the PI Classic International Challenge.
It makes economic sense to use as many parts from the 999 as I can.
Starting with the wheels and brakes.
As heavy as the wheels are, I think they will look well. 1552219939062240393245.jpg
I'm using R6 5sl forks(43mm rwu as per the rules) with stepped billet triples. There will be a little bit of work involved getting the front wheel and brakes sorted but it will save me money and get me rolling.
Are the ebay prices for these regular wheels a joke or is that what they are worth??
